As the production and manufacturing of fuel cells scales up, traditional activation methods can no longer meet the requirements in terms of production cost and cycle time. The industry's need for unified stack activation standards has become increasingly urgent. This document applies to the rapid activation and activation level evaluation of proton exchange membrane fuel cell stacks in industrial production. It aims to regulate the rapid activation methods and activation level evaluation methods for proton exchange membrane fuel cell stacks, to support the improvement of production efficiency in the industry.
To achieve this objective, the document first defines the activation targets, activation platform, activation environment, and general requirements. It then outlines the activation procedures, including activation process requirements, hydrogen pumping activation, oxygen-deficient activation, constant high-current activation, and load cycling activation. The document specifies the requirements for recording the fuel cell stack voltage change curve, voltage consistency variations, and the duration of each operational step. Finally, it provides a method for determining the activation level to confirm whether the fuel cell stack has been sufficiently activated.
