浙江省皮革行业协会在1994年登记注册成立，现登记机关为浙江省民政厅、主管党建机关为浙江省经信领域行业协会党委，是浙江省内各地区、不分经济性质的省级行业协会组织，现有以民营为主体的皮革行业企业、专业市场、高等院校、科研单位等多种经济成份组成的700多家会员单位，协会下设制革、皮件（含革皮服装、裘皮服装、手套、腰带）、皮鞋、箱包、皮革科技与化工、毛皮、市场流通、标准化、生态合成革应用、专家等十个专业委员会，会员企业的经济总量已占全行业规模以上企业的百分之六十五以上。
浙江省皮革行业协会承担着全省皮革行业的协调、服务与管理任务，为本行业广大会员服务，维护会员的合法权益，贯彻执行党和国家的政策、法规，落实省委省政府对行业发展要求，完成政府部门所委托的工作，以推动全行的发展为宗旨，在会员和政府部门之间起桥梁和纽带作用，在行业内推动开展国内外产业经济合作和服务等方面发挥作用。
浙江省皮革行业协会实行常务理事会领导下的理事长负责制，下设秘书处作为协会日常办事机构，协会认真贯彻执行党和国家方针政策，推动行业发展。通过各项活动有效促进全省皮革行业持续稳定发展。
协会在2013年建立党支部，现上级党组织是浙江省经信领域行业协会党委，在上级党组织领导下，以党建引领开展协会工作，将协会党建工作落到实处，党建融合取得成效，是浙江省经信厅直属机关党委授予的五星级优秀党组织。
浙江省皮革行业协会2004年、2010年、2015年连续三次被国家民政部授予“全国先进社会组织”荣誉称号；多次被评为“全国皮革行业先进协会”、“浙江省经信领域先进协会”；2008年被浙江省民政厅首批评为中国社会民间组织“5A”级协会，2013年、2018年、2023年三次复评中保持“5A”级协会。获得“全国轻工行业先进集体”等诸多荣誉。

Zhejiang Leather Industry Association was registered and established in 1994. The Zhejiang Leather Industry Association implements the system of responsibility under the leadership of the standing council and the president. It has a secretariat as the daily administrative body of the association. The association earnestly implements the guidelines and policies of the Party and the state and promotes the development of the industry. Through various activities, it effectively promotes the continuous and stable development of the leather industry throughout the province.
The association established a party branch in 2013. Its current higher - level party organization is the Party Committee of the Zhejiang Economic and Information Field Industry Association. Under the leadership of the higher - level party organization, it carries out the association's work with party building as the guide, implements the party building work of the association, and achieves results in the integration of party building.
